Glow Maternity and Baby
When young mum-of-three Kate Staddon launched her Glow Maternity and Baby shop
and website in 2006 she had certainly done her research. She had her first baby,
Chloe, when she was just 17, and little brother Ryan just 11 months later. By the time
Cayden came along, in 2004, Kate had spent years searching for independent shops offering
stylish maternity wear and accessories in her hometown of Barnstable. Inspired to take
the matter into her own hands Kate opened Glow Maternity and Baby in October 2006. Due to
the huge success of Glow Kate decided to branch out and launched the on-line shop
www.glowmaternityandbaby.co.uk shortly after. Kate now juggles being a mum with the
day-to-day running of the Glow Maternity and Baby store and the management of her online
store.
Both the shop and on-line store offer a wide range of stylish maternity clothes and accessories,
as well as lots of funky innovative baby products and accessories, 'As a young mum
myself,' she says, 'I love brands like Funmum, Skip Hop, Grobag, and Daisy Roots...
so I know my customers will be delighted to know they can find all these brands and
many more at Glow.'
'Why did it work? I think many of my customers know that I have hand-picked every single
product that we sell in the shop and on-line,' says Kate. 'And I go out of my way to source
brilliant new products that my customers will love as much as I do'.
'I really never imagined that we'd have a website as well,' she admits. 'But it just grew
so naturally out of what we were doing in the shop, and I must say it's been a big hit
with my customers. And, of course, I know from my own experience that modern mums and dads
with babies and toddlers appreciate the opportunity to shop while the little ones are
sleeping!'
